  • Nutritional Advice and Guidance for optimal Healing, Health and Well Being

The general health of the patient and the skin is important during and post surgery. Complications from any surgery can occur; delayed wound healing, infection, impaired circulation, even wound dehiscence (when the wound site does not heal together). Surgery requires extensive healing, in order to optimize the healing process; patients are given dietary guidelines and are advised to cease smoking prior to surgery.  Oral and Topical vitamin therapy boosts the nutrient levels in the skin to combat possible healing problems.

  • Pre operative & Immediate Post operative Lymphatic Drainage

Advanced manual lymphatic drainage techniques are used to stimulate lymphatic flow. Lymphatic circulation is important to the immune system and therefore to the healing process. Patients with post surgical swelling benefit from lymphatic drainage by relieving the fluid accumulation surrounding the wound site and consequent pain. Immediate post operative lymphatic drainage can be performed on day 5 or as soon as your surgeon requires. Before & after plastic /cosmetic surgery or before & after Liposuction.

  • Post operative Wound/Scar Management

Post surgery, the incision can be treated to improve the surgical scar appearance.
Various modalities are used, depending on the site, stage of healing and appearance.

Traumatic Scars:

Types of scars

Atrophic - depressed scar with loss of colour and bulk

Hypertrophic  - raised scar with excessive formation of scar tissue, limited to wound area

Keloid  - An excessive formation of scar tissue which grows beyond and above the  wound and may infiltrate into healthy tissue.

Scars acquired through accidents and burns are treated to improve healing and to improve their aesthetic appearance.
Both new and old scars are treatable;

- New scars are treated immediately; when sutures are in place or post suture removal to achieve the best possible result.

- Existing scars are treated by stimulating the healing processes in the skin. Micro wounding is necessary to re-model the scarred area. Various techniques are used depending on the type and age of the scar.

Whether scars are hypertrophic, Keloid or atrophic, treatment can achieve great results.

Acne Scars

Acne scarring is treatable with a variety of non surgical modalities depending on the type of scar. Most commonly, acne scars are indented, raised and/or pigmented.

Traumatic scar and Acne scar treatments may incorporate any one or a combination of modalities:

Medical microdermabrasion, chemical peeling, skin tightening, Skin Needling, Alkaline scar remodelling, laser treatment combined with Advanced vitamin skin therapy and silicone gels.  It is essential that our clinicians assess the type of scar and plan a program that is individualised.

An appointment to assess the scar and to discuss treatment modalities available can be made online or by phoning the clinic on
