Melbourne Laser & Aesthetic Centre was established in the Heart of Melbourne in 1990 by company directors Tania Fognini and Tania Caputo.

The clinic is staffed with qualified Dermal Clinicians, Dermal & Laser Therapists, Cosmetic Injecting Nurses and allied Healthcare Professionals.  Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon Dr Niamh Corduff & Medical Practitioners consult in the clinic and provide medical care.  

The Directors are qualified as Dermal Clinicians  Bachelor of Health Science - Clinical Dermal Therapies (BHSc-CDT) University Degree which specialises in Cosmetic Dermal Science and are fellows of the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians Inc. Dermal Clinicians in our clinic are highly educated and qualified laser specialists. All clinicians continue to undertake further study and keep abreast of current medical / cosmetic procedures, enrolling in scientific programs offered by both international and national cosmetic dermatology, cosmetic laser treatment and plastic surgery conferences.  

Founding director and senior Dermal Clinician with the Bachelor of Health Science - Clinical dermal therapies; BHSc-CDT. Currently, a Fellow of the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians Inc.; Tania Fognini is highly regarded having performed thousands of successful laser treatments since 1996. Offering over 20 years of professional experience and over 15 years Laser experience.  

Chairperson of the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians Inc. in 2006. Tania is also qualified as a Laser Safety Officer, ensuring laser safety in the clinic.  Tania is a member of the Australian Medical Laser Association Inc. and is qualified to perform Low Level Laser Therapy for the treatment of surgical/ traumatic wounds, burns, scars and chronic skin conditions.

Tania has studied 2 years of the Bachelor of Health Science - Naturopathy and is a Clinical Educator in the field of skin science and vitamin skin therapy in counteracting the damaging effects of free radicals.  

Tania is renowned for the treatment of sun damaged skins and scar revision using resurfacing ablative fractional laser and medical skin needling. Other areas of interest include the successful treatment of inflamed acne conditions and acne scarring using laser and light technologies, as well as melasma treatment using Laser and Q switched Laser technologies.

Tania regularly attends Cosmetic Laser and Plastic surgery conferences to keep abreast with latest techniques. She is interested in persuing further research in the use of Low level laser in post operative scar management and revision.

Tania Caputo

Founding director and senior Dermal Clinician holds the Bachelor of Health Science in Clinical dermal therapies; BHSc-CDT with over 20 years professional experience with over 15 years Laser experience. Tania Caputo is highly regarded having successfully treated thousands of satisfied clients & patients using various medical grade laser and pulsed light technolgies.

Currently a Fellow of the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians Inc and member of the Australian Medical Laser Association Inc. Tania is highly experienced in the use of many lasers such as: Fractionated ablative laser technology for skin resurfacing and tightening. Low Level Laser Therapy for the treatment of wounds and chronic conditions. Most recently Tania has completed advanced training with the latest Q Switched Tattoo removal laser.

She also is highly experienced and reknowned for her creative talent and precision in Cosmetic Tattooing and medical Micropigmentation. 

Tania regularly attends Cosmetic and Plastic surgery conferences to further her knowledge and to offer the latest techniques.  Tania has a vast experience in Medical skin rolling or needling for scar reduction and collagen induction therapy.

Dr Niamh Corduff

FRACS MBBS

Niamh is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and has been a practising plastic surgeon for over 15 years. She completed her medical training in London, qualifying as a doctor in 1984, before going on to study surgery and then plastic surgery. She became a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in Australia in 1993. She is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Niamh is currently the President of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Niamh is involved in research into breast surgery and has published in scientific journals. She lectures regularly on breast surgery at various forums.

Niamh consults regularly in the clinic for patients undergoing Pearl Fractionated Resurfacing, Cosmetic Injectables and offers medical advice. No referral is necessary.

Claire Coulstock is currently completing her 4th year of the Bachelor Degree at Victoria University; she holds a Diploma in Health Science and is planning to go on to a Masters Degree. Her knowledge and passion in dermal and cosmetic laser therapies offers exceptional quality in all her treatments.

In the clinic, Claire offers the latest techniques in non surgical cosmetic procedures for chronic skin conditions such as sun damaged skin, Rosacea, Acne and Acne scarring and pigmentation. Claire performs Laser and IPL treatments for Hair Removal, using a variety of Laser Technologies as well as performing skin treatments such as Photorejuvenation using IPL and Laser, Medical Microdermabrasion, skin peels and scar revision.

Claire is interested in treatment of chronic wounds and post surgical scar revision. She performs Low Level Laser Therapy to assist in enhancing healing and in reducing pain and swelling. Her caring disposition offers patients a competant yet gentle approach to treatment.

Monique Tuma has over 10 years professional experience. She holds a Diploma in Health Science and has completed training in Laser theory and practice obtaining the post graduate Laser Safety Certificate.

As a Laser Therapist in the clinic, Monique offers Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Laser treatment for hair removal using a variety of advanced Laser technologies and has special interest in the treatment of excessive hair growth problems particularly associated with poly cystic ovarian syndrome. Clients receive her high standard of professional treatment and meticulous care.  

Monique is passionate about Photorejuvenation and Laser for the treatment of acne skin and sun damaged skin conditions. Q-switched Laser treatment for Tattoo Removal as well as the popular Q- switched Laser Skin Toning. 

Monique has a bright and spirited personality and is passionate about her profession. She is eager to continue further education in laser and skin therapies.

Heidi Fenech is a graduate of the Bachelor Degree at Victoria University. In the clinic, Heidi offers the latest techniques in non surgical cosmetic procedures for chronic skin conditions such as acne and acne scarring with particular interest in laser skin rejuvenation and resurfacing procedures. 

Heidi is qualified to perform all Laser and IPL treatments using a variety of Laser Technologies as well as performing Q Switched Laser for pigmented skin conditions, Laser toning and tattoo removal. She offers skin treatments such as Medical Microdermabrasion, chemical peels and skin needling. Heidi has been working in the CBD offering laser treatments and skin needling procedures for several years and has recently joined our team at Melbourne Laser & Aesthetic Centre. 

Heidi performs Laser treatments specialising in RF skin tightening and fractional sublative treatment  for skin rejuvenation and optimal scar remodelling.

Having worked internationally as well as locally with renowned Plastic Surgeons, Marco offers a wealth of knowledge and injectables skill. Our clients can expect to receive his utmost care and attention to detail and warm to his vibrant yet gentle nature.

Anita Wang

Anita Wang is a registered nurse graduating from Latrobe University in 2008 and has worked in various hospitals before joining our team in 2012. She is passionate about our cosmetic procedures and is training to become a nurse injector. Anita  will also commence the post graduate certificate in Cosmetic Dermal Science at Victoria University in 2013 to further her education and work towards offering Laser treatments in our clinic.

Anita is at our Reception, arranging appointments, answering queries and offering her care and knowledge for clients in relation to post treatment instructions.

Society members have completed and graduated from Victoria University with the Bachelor Degree of Health Science- Clinical Dermal Therapies, they practice with focus on therapeutic approaches based on scientific research and clinical studies for the therapies of skin disorders and rejuvenation.
